L’ORÉAL’S FIRST BUSINESS GAME COMMUNITY ON “academici. The Virtual Academy”
Paris, Birmingham, 13 April 2005 –. L’Oréal launched today the first online networking community for its business game e-Strat Challenge 5. The L’Oréal e-Strat Challenge is the ultimate international corporate business game open to students worldwide. Over 93,000 undergraduates and MBA students from 2,190 universities from Northern Europe, Central Europe, Southern Europe, Africa, Eurasia, North America and South America, Asia and Pacific have registered since the year 2000.
To facilitate contact between the students who registered on the e-Strat Challenge 5 and to enhance their relationship with L’Oréal, the virtual e-Strat Community starts at www.academici.com/net/estrat5/ today. This community will be part of the wider academic network “academici. The Virtual Academy” which includes members from leading universities and business schools in over 100 countries.
According to Prof. Dr. Markus Vinzent, University of Birmingham and one of the founders of academici, “the e-Strat Members from United States who join will actively communicate, interact with each other, exchange knowledge, discuss the beauty and cosmetic industries and further develop this specific network within the wider academici community”.
Geoff Skinglsey, L’Oréal’s Executive Vice President in charge of Human Resources said: “The L’Oréal e-Strat Challenge is a great adventure for the students and for the Group. The competition has become, over the years, an incredible human resources opportunity for us. The L’Oréal e-Strat Challenge has grown into a worldwide event that puts L’Oréal in touch with the best and brightest business students around the world, in a way that is original and powerful.²
David Rivier, Project Manager of the “L’Oréal e-Strat Community” at academici suggests: “It is the first time a international corporate like L’Oréal takes advantage social software through a wider online network to strengthen participants links with L’Oréal and keep in contact with each other”
